Biswanath Agriculture district comprises Two agriculture subdivision viz. Biswanath and Gohpur. There are nine Agriculture development officers’ circles in the district.
The main activities of the department are to transfer the improved agriculture technologies from Scientist laboratory to farmer’s field to increase the production maintaining the health of environment and soil through training, awareness camp & field visit, conducting demonstration on improved technologies. To increase production, micro irrigation like STW, Sprinkler & drip irrigation system & Farm machineries are provided to farmers on subsidized rate. Farmers are provided financial help for crop production through bank loan in minimum interest rate in terms of KCC. In adverse climatic situation like flood, drought, crop damages due to pest disease attack, farmers are provided assistance in cash or kinds to compensate their crop losses. Steps have been taken by Agriculture Department to register the farmers online under hornet to avail different components under horticulture schemes.
