The Executive Engineer of the Division is over all in-charge of the Division to look after the embankment, implementation of works etc. He is assisted by the Assistant Executive Engineers of the Sub Divisions. The Assistant Executive Engineer is the in-charge of his Sub Division. He is assisted by the Assistant Engineers and Junior Engineers posted as Sectional Officer to look after the different sites. The Sectional Officer is assisted by the Sectional assistants posted under him.
The Tezpur W.R Division has three nos. of Sub Divisions
Tezpur W.R. Sub-Division:-
Embankment, protection & Anti-erosion works along river Brahmaputra, Gabharu, Belsiri, Depota and Jiabharali(R/B) along with protection of Tezpur town also fall under the jurisdiction of this Sub- Division.
Biswanath Chariali W.R. Sub-Division:-
Embankment, protection & Anti- erosion along river Brahmaputra, Jiabharali(L/B), Ghiladhari, Buroi, Borgang etc. fall under the jurisdiction of this Sub-Division.
Gohpur W.R. Sub-Division:-
Embankment, protection & Anti –erosion works along river Brahmaputra, Solengi, Brahmajan, Chatrang, Singra Maganijan, Sessa etc. fall under the jurisdiction of this Sub-Division.
Technical Section:
The Technical Section is headed by a Technical Consultant (T.C.) who is of the rank of Assistant Executive Engineer and assisted by one Assistant Engineer, two Junior Engineers and four Sectional Assistants (presently working in Technical Branch)
Accounts Section:
The Accounts Section consists of a Accounts Officer assisted by a few Dy A.O. The Accounts Officer is an employee of the Accountant General and is posted to the Division for keeping proper account, check and control of Financial matters. The A.O. has to compile and maintain accounts of the Division and has to submit the monthly accounts to the A.G. and to apply preliminary checks to the initial accounts, payment vouchers, expenditures etc. The A.O. also works as a Financial Adviser to the Executive Engineer in the matters of Accounts, budget estimates, financial rules etc. The Divisional Accountant is responsible to the Executive Engineer and being the representative of A.G. he is also responsible to some extent to A.G.
General Branch:This section is headed by a Head Assistant assisted by a number of Junior Assistants. All correspondences of the Division is done by General Branch and all records relating to the Division are kept by this section.

The Water Resource Division, Tezpur has a total strength of 198 Nos of staff headed by the Executive Engineer. The list of staff details is enclosed at Annexure I

Annual plan budget of the Division:
There is no separate Budget provision is made for Disaster Management works. The works under S.D.R.F. are taken up after their sanctioning from the Revenue Department. Periodic maintenance of the embankment is done from M&R fund and the flood fighting works are done from fund released under flood drill. To take up emergency flood fighting works Department has approved the flood drill estimate for an amount Rs. 44.00 Lakh for the year 2018-19.
